The short answer

A live casino lets you bet online at real tables with dealers streamed on video in real time: roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker and prize game shows. The result comes from the physical wheel or deck, not from software. Reputable studios (Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Playtech) are audited and offer tables with Spanish-speaking dealers. From Chile you can play with a peso balance at casinos with foreign licences (none holds a Chilean licence), with minimum bets from about $200 CLP at roulette. [VERIFICAR por casino]

How a live casino works

  1. The casino contracts a provider (Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Playtech, Ezugi) that runs studios with physical tables, professional dealers and several cameras per table.
  2. The stream reaches your screen with a delay of one to three seconds; the betting interface is overlaid on the video.
  3. An optical character recognition (OCR) system reads the roulette number or the cards from the shoe and settles bets instantly.
  4. You can chat with the dealer (who reads the chat and answers out loud) and with other players.
  5. The results history and table statistics are available in the interface.

The house edge is exactly that of the physical table: 2.7% on European roulette, around 0.5% on blackjack with basic strategy and good rules, 1.06% on baccarat betting on the banker.

Providers: who is behind the table

If the table does not say which provider runs it, look for it in the info panel or the logo on the interface. A casino whose "live" section comes from a studio you cannot identify is a casino where you should not bet live.

The peso minimums are typical market ranges; the minimums we measured at each casino, with dates, are in each review. Roulette has its own guide and blackjack has another with the basic strategy chart.

How to choose a table

  • Dealer language. Spanish-language tables exist but there are fewer of them; they are usually under a "Latin America" or "Spanish" tab. If you cannot find one, an English table works the same way: the interface is in Spanish.
  • Limits. Each table has a minimum and maximum per bet and per position. Choose one where your usual bet is at least 50 times smaller than your session budget.
  • Rules. At blackjack, a 3 to 2 payout and a dealer who stands on soft 17. At roulette, European, never American (double zero, 5.26%).
  • Video quality. Set automatic or low quality on 4G to avoid drop-outs; a drop-out mid-hand does not cancel the bet (it is settled anyway), but it is annoying.
  • Seat availability. Classic blackjack has 7 seats; if they are full, use "bet behind" or infinite blackjack.

Live casino on your phone

It works in any modern browser, with no app. What matters on a mid-range Android phone on 4G:

  • The stream should load in under five seconds and not drop during a half-hour session. We measure this in each review. [VERIFICAR por casino]
  • Data usage: medium-quality video uses several hundred megabytes per hour. [VERIFICAR con nuestra medición] With a limited plan, use wifi.
  • Portrait mode: Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live have portrait interfaces designed for phones; Playtech less so.

Live casino and bonuses

This is the most expensive beginner mistake. Almost every casino counts live bets at 0% or 10% towards a bonus rollover, and some prohibit playing tables with an active bonus balance. If you accepted a welcome bonus and play live roulette, the rollover does not move and, in the worst case, the casino voids the bonus and the winnings. If live casino is your game, turn the bonus down or clear it first on slots. Details in the welcome bonus guide.

Where to play live casino from Chile

The casinos at the end of this page are the highest-rated casinos in our ranking that have a live section. What matters for live casino in particular:

  • Section size and audited providers. Betano and Pin-Up stand out for their live catalogue (Betano, Pin-Up).
  • A peso balance, so minimums are readable without conversion. JugaBet operates in pesos (JugaBet).
  • Spanish-language tables enabled; we count them in each review.

None of these casinos holds a Chilean licence. They operate under foreign licences and their domains may be blocked by your internet provider following the Supreme Court ruling of September 2025. Background in Is online casino gambling legal in Chile?. If you want a dealer table under Chilean regulation, you will find one at the land-based casinos supervised by the SCJ (Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego, Chile's casino regulator); they are listed in the land-based casinos guide.

How to protect your budget at a live casino

  1. The pace is slower than slots, but minimum bets are higher; work out your budget per hour.
  2. Bet flat; progressive systems (Martingale) run into the table maximum and into your balance.
  3. Set a cash-out target and a maximum loss before you sit down.
  4. Do not bet on game shows expecting to "win it back"; they have the worst edge in the section.

Frequently asked questions

What is a live casino?

A section of an online casino where you play at real physical tables, with flesh-and-blood dealers, streamed on video from a studio. You bet from your screen and the result comes from a real roulette wheel or deck of cards, not a random number generator.

Is a live casino fairer than a virtual one?

It is just as fair if the provider is audited. The difference is that you watch the result happen. Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech run licensed, audited studios; the house edge is the same as at the equivalent physical table.

Are there live casino tables with Spanish-speaking dealers?

Yes. Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live have roulette and blackjack tables in Spanish, aimed at Latin America. Not every casino offers them and there are usually fewer than English tables. Each review states how many we found. [VERIFICAR por casino]

What is the minimum bet at a live casino in Chile?

Live roulette usually starts at around $200 to $500 CLP per bet; live blackjack at around $1.000 to $5.000 CLP per hand depending on the table. [VERIFICAR por casino] Game shows have low minimums and high maximums.

How much mobile data does a live casino use?

Video streaming is the heaviest part. On automatic quality over 4G, an hour at a table can use several hundred megabytes. [VERIFICAR con nuestra medición] If your plan is limited, lower the video quality in the table settings or use wifi.

Does live casino count towards a bonus rollover?

Almost never. Most casinos count live tables at 0% or 10% towards the rollover. If you want to play live, turn down the welcome bonus or clear it first on slots; with a bonus balance, live bets may even breach the terms.
